Oregon Ducks and Dan Lanning trying to land commits from top five star players amid huge recruiting weekend
Chris Pietsch/The Register-Guard / USA TODAY NETWORK

Dan Lanning is becoming one of the premier recruiters in all of college football for the Oregon Ducks. He just brought in the third highest rated high school football recruiting class and the second best transfer class according to the 247Sports Composite this spring. And now he's at it again, hosting a star-studded five star recruiting weekend in Eugene!

The top three names that every Ducks fan should know and keep eye on this weekend (and beyond):

  • Dakorien Moore WR, Duncanville, TX - Top 5 national recruit
  • Jonah Williams, S, Galveston, TX - Top 10 national recruit
  • Michael Terry, ATH, San Antonio, TX - Top 30 national recruit

All three are five star recruits according to the 247Sports Composite (that includes all major services' rankings), and all three are very much in the mix to join Oregon in the 2025 recruiting class. And On3 Sports actually has them all ranked number one overall among their respective position groups as you can see in the post below.

Dakorien Moore, WR, Duncanville High School

Dakorien Moore has been rated as the number one overall wide receiver in the 2025 recruiting class since the very first release of ranks from both 247Sports and On3. He was wildly productive and explosive even as a freshman a few short years ago. Now he continues to dominate both on the field with over 1500 receiving yards last fall, on the recruiting camp circuit, and on the track where runs a 10.6-second 100-meter time.

Moore is currently committed to LSU, but he's been flirting with a few blue bloods all spring long like Texas and Ohio State. Oregon is certainly in the mix too. According to Steve Wiltfong of On3 Sports this Oregon visit has "been on the calendar for a while" as a major challenger to flip him.

Jonah Williams, S, Ball High School

There aren't many athletes in the entire country more special and unique than Jonah Williams. He's a safety with elite range and ball skills, but he's also scored nearly double-digit punt and kick return touchdowns over the last two seasons as well. And on top of that, he's one of the best baseball players in the country too.

This visit will be all about showing Williams how he could fit in with Oregon and potentially be the most versatile piece on the defensive side of the ball for the Ducks. He has over 30 other schools still vying for his services, but he's made it known he likes Oregon for quite some time.

Michael Terry III, ATH, Alamo Heights High School

Michael Terry III boasts sub 11-second speed in the 100-meter dash, ran for nearly 1000 yards last season, hauled in almost 600 receiving yards, and can also play defense too. It's very likely Terry ends up playing wide receiver at the college level, but given his versatility he could also play running back, linebacker, or defensive back.

Terry has made it rather clear that Oregon is among the final three or four programs he's considering, so this visit may be one of his last before officially committing here soon. Terry might actually be the most likely one of this five star trio to commit to Oregon.
