After a long day of practice, Packers starting cornerback Rasul Douglas appeared in front of the media to talk about the upcoming matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Rasul Douglas told the media the plan for the Packers is to play the defensive starters this Thursday. Douglas didn’t specify how much they are going to play, but he did make it clear he is excited to play. The cornerback went on to say “They can’t mess with us” when referring to the Packers' offense.
He has made it supremely clear how confident he is in the Packers team as a whole, as well as the defense specifically. Again, it is not clear exactly how much the Packers plan on playing their starting defense. Since it is the final week, expect them to play at least two series just to get in rhythm. They shouldn’t play much longer than that too and the fringe players will get a good chunk of time.
This is the final game for many Packers to prove themselves in hopes of making the final cuts. The Chiefs seem primed to play their starters for a couple of drives as well. Hopefully, football fans will get to see the closest thing to regular season starters.
A new practice style has changed the NFL. Many times they are finding comfort in joint practices where full contact is avoided. Due to this trend, fans haven’t gotten to see their favorite names play as much throughout the preseason.
